The samurai is, above all, a gentleman, so he is afable, and docile to the forces of the universe, considering them as “Kannagara No Michi”, i.e “the way that leads to the divine reality and truth” (kannagara means “God’s brook, the flux of creative energy which builds a bridge between the past and the future”).
Nowadays, aikido is the martial discipline which sublimates the samurai way of life; yes, today there are genuine samurai, within the rule of Japanese Morihei Ueshiba (“O Sensei”), the founder of aikido.
